THIOCHROMENOPYRIDINES-II: ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIOXIDANT 9-BENZYLIDENEAMINO-5H-THIOCHROMENO[2,3-b]PYRIDIN-5-ONES

Abstract:
A series of potential biologically active 9-benzylideneamino-5H-thiochromeno[2,3-b]pyridin-5-ones were synthesized by using microwave irradiation as well as conventional heating method from 9-amino-5H-benzothiopyrano[2,3-b]pyridin-5-one and different aromatic aldehydes. The synthesized compounds were characterized through Mass, 1H-NMR, IR spectra and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
